Drsný horor britské provenience o rodině, která nikdy neměla spatřit světlo světa, vyvolal pořádné pozdvižení. Na noc, kterou polská emigrantka Lena stráví s mamkou a taťkou v jejich domě hrůzy, nikdy nezapomene. Už dlouho se ve Velké Británii nestrhlo kvůli filmu takové pozdvižení, jaké vyvolal autorský snímek Stevena Sheila z roku 2008. Značný ohlas sklidil i vloni na festivalu v Karlových Varech. Ve velmi drsném, surovém a brutálním hororu s poetickým názvem Mamka & taťka se postupně odvíjí příběh polské emigrantky Leny, která uklízí na londýnském letišti Heathrow. Po skončení směny jí ujel poslední autobus a Lena přijme nabídku své kolegyně, bezstarostné Birdie, a jejího bratra, aby přespala u nich, nedaleko letištní ranveje. Vilka, které vládnou neochvějnou rukou rodiče sourozenců, „mamka“ a „taťka“, ale není zdaleka takovým rájem, jak se na první pohled zdá. Za jejími zdmi se totiž usídlilo utrpení. A ti, kteří se tváří nejlaskavěji, jsou jeho hlavním zdrojem. Stěny domu hrůzy jsou malovány zvráceností a parkety leštěny mučením a ponížením. Na tuhle noc už Lena nikdy nezapomene. A nakonec jí zůstává jediná volba. Buď se připojí k šílenství, které vládne kolem ní, anebo… zemře.
